When you wake up with a good song in your head, what does that do for your whole day?
Bear in mind, it's gotta be a GOOOOOD song... what does it do for your whole self?
Mind, body, and spirit?
For me, it feels like a fresh start, a first rain...
My day rolls out in front of me like a clear canvas begging for loud color and a few first swipes with a well-used brush.
There is a freshness.
Which seems to lend a kind of readiness to take on the day.
This is unusual.
I don't wake up with songs in my head and heart every day... it's a rare occurrence (hence the real estate I'm giving it in my daily message).
I'm no Cinderella, frolicking with birds and mice in high soprano in the pre-dawn hours.
And today's wake-up tune is one that surprised me.
It was playing in my mind before I opened my eyes.
The song came out the year I was born...
and I really haven't spent much time prior to this morning listening to it.
It's a little bit of a jangly-pop, Motown-inspired, last-vestiges of the 60's short song.
The lyrics are simple... the message is sweet and has a bit of an... innocence?... to it.
It's also a song of promise... and here it is:
More Than Yesterday - by the Spiral Staircase
Utter joy seems to include the grainy video... beige suits; swingin', slightly sad dance moves, and the happiest tune that's playing in my head this morning.
In your mind, right on time
Have songs ever arrived into your mind, right on time?
Either in the early morning, like in my story above, or during the day or evening?
Do you recall?
This feels like a gift. A sweet upbeat message of promise.
Too fun not to share today! So find and play your song... outloud, so your ears can hear it and drink it in... and let's get after the day TODAY!
Thinking of you,
More motivation is available on the daily...
enCOURAGEment... because growth takes guts.
Opt-in right here, right now.
