Have you ever had to make a decision that you just didn't feel confident or settled in?
As in, you needed more information, details, or something else in order to make the best decision.
I totally have.
With that situation comes a range of feelings about choices and decisions:
From settled, secure, and confident.... all the way through to unsettled, slightly insecure, mildly trepidatious, even fearful with a winding thread of dread. Not many on that last one...fortunately!
When I really thought about it, I discovered:
I don't like choosing when I'm not sure I'm making the best, most informed choice for me, my business, or my family.
And when I feel like I'm in a time crunch? It is tough!
So what to do? Two options, here
1. Ask for more time to get needed research or backup data is one option. Need to check in with an attorney, financial planner, bookkeeper, or heck, spouse/partner (!) before pulling the trigger? Ask for, or get, that time and then get the needed info.
2. Level up the quality of your online searching skills so you can get more targeted details, better information... faster.
If not your skills, how about adding to your assistant's skill pack? And then you rely on the fine art form of delegation.
Shoot! What if your TEAM was better and faster at searching online?
What impact might that have on your business?
For me, turnaround time in proposal prep alone means better clients and more money for the business.
As a business owner, making decisions is part of the gig... and it happens all day long.
