Curious about creating? Want to learn a brand new technique or brush up on an old one? The following is a smattering of class options – conducted in my studio space – or in your space. Prefer to work in groups of 4-6 so this is a great option for gathering friends for a party, an evening or even a crafter-noon! Prices are $20.00 per hour, per person.
Beginning Classes – 3 hours each
Knitting – we’ll start with a simple but classic pattern and concentrate on casting on, navigating a pattern, knitting and casting off. Project is a soft washcloth.
Jewelry Making – Get to know the tools and practice simple stringing techniques. Also covered: simple drop earring construction.
Introduction to Polymer Clay – Check out polymer clay. Learn the basic construct of canes, beads and buttons to be used for decorations, jewelry, custom embellishments.
Photo Transfer onto Polymer Clay – Highly recommended for family photos! We’ll work with polymer clay and transfer photocopied images onto the surface of the clay! A 3 hour class yields 5-6 finished ornament pieces. Great for jewelry, art quilts, scrapbooking, or holiday gifts. Could be really fun to create trading cards – or even a family game!
Been There Wear – a class devoted to the charms of the squished penny. Earrings, bracelets, pins and pendant techniques. Bring your collection of favorites and we’ll give them new life as wearable art.
Got Closure? – Stumped about closure options for your clothes, jewelry or other arts? Let’s play with magnetic disk closures, rivets, grommets and eyelets, snaps plus myriad options for custom wire hooks, loops and other choices. Get to know your options. Brainstorm and bring your sketchbook or journal.
English Paper Piecing Class – Learn this super-soothing and portable handsewing technique. Use scraps to create a sweet and simple sampler set of coasters. Includes tea and biscuits. Get really into it and we’ll schedule for 4 o’clock!
Options – I’m happy to coordinate the materials needed for each class, which will incur a materials fee. Or I can provide a materials and resource list so you may procur to your heart’s delight.
